Steve Jobs instilled a culture in Apple that enabled the company to produce simple, elegant and innovative customer-focused products like the iMac, iPod and iPhone, which fundamentally disrupted a number of industries.
Using Apple products for the first time was a truly inspirational experience. I remember picking up an iPod and using it without having to read a manual, and it seemed like a giant leap forward when compared to the alternatives available at the time.
His aim was not to create the most valuable company in the world, rather to make the best devices in the world. This design-led, customer-centric approach has propelled Apple to pole position in the race to a $1 trillion market capitalisation.
